Hailstone Ranch has been owned
and managed by the Langhus family for over three generations. It
is a working cattle ranch of some 11.500 acres, which
was originally founded by Ole Langhus, a Norwegian immigrant
from near to Stavanger. You can still find
some old homesteads on the wide-ranging ranch. You can
see how the original settlers lived, and how their homes
looked as the West was first being settled. The
Hailstone Ranch and surrounding area is rich in history.
People back in the "Good Old Days" were driven mostly by a
strong desire to improve their standard of
living however, their animals always came first as they
were vital to their survival. In an attempt to meet both
goals additonal land was acquired whenever possible - and so
the Hailstone Ranch grew continually over
time.
